The Validation Patterns card deck is a collection of 60 lean product experiments that will help you de-risk product success.

At UI-Patterns.com, we’ve been working on a new lean experiment brainstorm tool for quite a while: The Validation Patterns card deck.

Through using- and educating in use of our Persuasive Patterns (PP) tools, we found that experimentation was by far the best method to systematically incorporate behavioral science with the design process. When explaining how to use the PP cards, we also found that the hardest part to grasp for students was how to apply them in daily design work.

To scratch our own itch, we started collecting the most common and cleverly designed lean experiments to validate whatever hypothesis we would create with the help from our PP cards.

We found that behavioral science and experimentation go hand in hand

That’s why we’re announcing a pre-order of our latest tool: Validation Patterns. They are a collection of 60 of the most common lean product experiments that will help you validate your most riskiest assumptions. The tool will ship in January 2018.

The purpose of the card deck is to create a shared experiment vocabulary and to spark ideas. The will act as a tool of communication and collaboration.

They are in themselves “stupid” and simplified, but will hopefully allow us to both spark interest in the subject of experimentation, but also provide practical inspiration as to how useful experiments can be designed.

I hope that you’ll like the idea and perhaps find interest in using the cards in your own setting.

We’re still experimenting and validating the usefulness of each card.

If you believe we are missing any (especially of evaluative kind) experiments, then please get in touch!
