UI-Patterns.com is the work of Anders Toxboe – a Danish web developer seeking to categorize what has before seemed like ad hoc approaches to developing web applications.
By not only listing different ways of solving common design problems, but also rationalizing about how, when, and why such solutions should be used, it is the goal to create a tool that will help end feature debates, get a clear understanding of why we’re doing what we’re doing, and why we’re not doing what we’re not doing.
UI-Patterns.com is an attempt to over time create a library of such solutions to common problems. It is a personal project, but is extremely open to contributions.
User Interface Design Patterns
It has long been common practice in software design to use libraries of
Collections of software design patterns are standard reference points for the experienced programmer. But why not for the experienced User Interface (UI) designer? This website seeks to better the situation for the UI designer, who struggles with the same problems as many other UI designers have struggled with before him.
UI-Patterns.com are not the first to create a UI design library. A popular design library is the Yahoo! Design Pattern Library. While very useful, it is far from complete. The purpose of this site is over time to fill some of the gaps – especially by providing code examples as to how how the different patterns can be implemented.

Hi,
Browsing the Next and Prev featuring while looking at Calendars, I noticed that you’re not adding the width and height attributes to the main image. This causes the page to jump about and is quite jarring/distracting.
I’m enjoying the site either way.

the page is excellent!! congrats.. but I have a question, I’m researching about Delegation pattern I know is a UI pattern and I found about how I can do in java , php, etc. but… I would like to know how or wich framework use this patter or maybe in what context I could to use this pattern.

I’m interested in browsing some of the design patterns of your homepage. Are they completely “free” to use (as in the sense of creative commons "ca") or are there any restrictions (like attribution, non-commercial, no derivates). It would be very helpful if you state this in your about page.

Anders: thank you for setting up this ambitious site. Many of the questions posted so far are important- is it possible for you to share your answers, especially to Joe and Naveen’s questions?
Also, I am involved in AIGA, which just published a dictionary on Branding- pulls together all the terms tossed about in that field. Is anyone aware of a similar compilation of terms used in UI/HCI? would be very helpful. Thanks & keep up the great work. David

i´m writing a sheet for my university, were i´ll list the evolution of design patterns. Also it will contain an overview about actual Design Pattern Libraries.
I am going to list yours too but i need some more data.
You would make me really happy if you can help me with some data.
