The facebook galleries pops up in a modal window with a darkened background. When hovering the image, more functions are revealed: browse to the previous and next images (arrows), "see gallery in full screen mode", tag the photo with people you know and more. When not hovering the image with your cursor, the full image is shown without any overlays.
