After the relaunching UI-patterns.com and adding a new Screenshot collections-section of the site, I’ve frequently been asked how the new section is different from any other CSS gallery or screenshot site.

UI-patterns will always be focused around providing solutions for common problems. This very nicely narrows down what kind of content you can expect in the screenshot collections. You will not see screenshots of web pages that are only nice too look at or screenshots that showcases good use of background images.

There is however also a User sets section on this site. This is dedicated playground for the site’s users and will only be moderated if the site is abused for link spamming, shameless self-promotion or other malicious means. So in part, you will be able to find screenshots of just pretty web pages, but never in the “official” sections (Design patterns and screenshot collections) of UI-patterns.com.

What are the most common design problems for which you seek inspiration for on UI-patterns.com? I might just do the research for you if you ask politely…
