Bill Buxton
| Bill Buxton is a designer and researcher concerned with the human aspects of technology. Trained as a musician, he worked on early multi-touch and music composition tools at the University of Toronto in the late 1970s and later took part in research at Xerox PARC. He was chief scientist at Alias | Wavefront and SGI, and from 2005 a principal researcher at Microsoft Research. He wrote Sketching User Experiences (2007) and received the SIGCHI Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008. |
Bill Buxton’s talk here is Technology is not the product, given at MIX in 2009. It is filed under user experience, and its title sums up its argument: what people experience as a product is more than the technology inside it.
