Janine Benyus is a biologist, author, innovation consultant and self-proclaimed “nature nerd”. She may not have coined the term biomimicry, but she popularised it in her 1997 book Biomimicry: Innovation Inspired by Nature.

In her TED talk “Biomimicry in action” (2009), Janine Benyus speaks about biomimicry, the practice of learning from designs found in nature. The talk is filed under design and sustainable user experience.
