Speaker
Harry Brignull
Harry Brignull is an independent user experience consultant. He blogs at 90 Percent of Everything and curates Darkpatterns.org, a site dedicated to understanding deceptive user interfaces, with the aim of stamping them out and improving the web for everyone.
In “Dark Patterns: User Interfaces Designed to Trick People” (2010), Harry Brignull looks at interfaces built to deceive users. The talk touches on cognitive psychology, design patterns, interface design, motivational design and perception, and is a useful reminder of where persuasive design crosses into manipulation.
