Open Source
Open source started as a way of developing software in public: the code is published, anyone can read it, and others can reuse and improve it. The idea has since spread to design, where teams share pattern libraries, style guides, tools and even their working process openly.
Working in the open can make design work better. Sharing early invites feedback, publishing reusable components saves others from solving the same problems again, and documenting decisions in public helps teams stay honest about why things are the way they are.
The one talk in this topic is “Open by default” by Brad Frost, recorded at Webdagene in 2014 and also tagged with creativity.
