Social Games
Social games are games in which interaction with other players is central: playing together, competing, trading, helping each other or simply seeing what friends are doing. Many of the mechanics popular in gamified products, such as leaderboards and shared goals, come from this kind of game.
The one talk in this topic is “The Player’s Journey” by Amy Jo Kim, recorded at Gamification 2013. It is also tagged with gamification, interaction design, intrinsic motivation and user experience.
