Mobile-device Testing
Mobile-device testing means checking how a website or app works on real phones and tablets, across different screen sizes, operating systems, browsers and network conditions. Emulators and resized desktop browsers catch some problems, but many issues with touch, performance and layout only show up on actual devices. It also matters for A/B testing and analytics, since results can differ by device in ways that are easy to miss.
The talk collected here is “The Myths, Lies and Illusions of Cross Device Testing” by Craig Sullivan at conversions@google in 2015, tagged with A/B testing and mobile. This is a sub-topic of usability testing.
