Jon Kolko
Jon Kolko is a designer, educator and author. He founded Austin Center for Design, an educational institution teaching interaction design and social entrepreneurship, and Modernist Studio, which was acquired in 2021. He has also worked at frog design, served as Vice President of Design at Blackboard, and taught interaction and industrial design at the Savannah College of Art and Design. His books include Well-Designed: How to Use Empathy to Create Products People Love, Exposing the Magic of Design, Wicked Problems and Thoughts on Interaction Design.
In “How to Use Empathy to Create Products People Love” (Midwest UX, 2014), Jon Kolko speaks on the subject of his book Well-Designed. The talk touches on design process, design thinking, emotional engagement, higher education and leadership.
