Maggie Appleton

Maggie Appleton is a designer, developer and anthropologist interested in tools for thought, end-user programming and interfaces for language models.

In her talk here, from UX Brighton 2024, she looks at the dark forest theory of the web, the idea that the public web is filling up with bots and clickbait, and asks how generative AI will change it: how we will find original insight, tell human authors from machines, and whether that distinction matters.
