Dan Saffer
Dan Saffer is an interaction and product designer who has designed devices, apps, websites, wearables, appliances, automotive interiors, services and robots since 1995. He has worked at companies including Smart Design, Jawbone, Twitter and Flipboard, where he was head of product design, and teaches at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. He is the author of Designing for Interaction, Designing Gestural Interfaces, Designing Devices and Microinteractions.
In his talk “Microinteractions” (IxDA Events, 2013), Dan Saffer covers the small, single-purpose moments inside a product, such as changing a setting or giving feedback on an action. The talk touches on emotional engagement, habits and persuasive design.
