Accessibility
Accessibility means designing products that people with a wide range of abilities can perceive, understand and use, including people with visual, hearing, motor or cognitive impairments. Accessible design benefits far more people than it is aimed at: clear structure, readable text and predictable interactions help everyone.
The talk here is Designing Cognitive Engagement For Everyone by Andrew Zusman, recorded at UX Salon in 2014. As its title suggests, it focuses on the cognitive side of accessibility: designing experiences that people with different mental capacities and ways of thinking can engage with. Patterns that reduce mental load, such as chunking and recognition over recall, support the same goal.
