Micromoments
Micromoments are the brief, often fleeting moments in an interface that people notice without thinking about them: a button that responds with a subtle animation, a transition that shows where content came from, or a playful detail that appears after completing a task. They are close relatives of microinteractions, with the emphasis on how a moment feels rather than how it works.
In UI and UX design, these moments add up. Thoughtful motion can explain changes of state, guide attention and make an interface feel responsive, while small touches of playfulness can strengthen a brand and create emotional engagement. Overdone, they slow people down, so restraint is part of the craft.
The talk collected here is “Motion & Playfulness” by Benjamin De Cock (2018), tagged with animation, brand, delight, interaction design, interface design and emotional engagement.
