Google Tech Talk
Six Google Tech Talks from 2009 to 2011 are collected here, covering two quite different subjects: gamification and JavaScript.
On the gamification side, Sebastian Deterding’s Meaningful Play: Getting Gamification Right (2011), Gabe Zichermann’s Fun is the Future: Mastering Gamification (2010) and Amy Jo Kim’s Applying Game Mechanics to Functional Software (2009) look at how ideas from video games can be applied to user engagement, e-learning and social design. On the technical side, Douglas Crockford presents JavaScript: The Good Parts (2009), Ryan Dahl introduces Node.js: JavaScript on the Server (2010), and Paul Bakaus talks about building a JavaScript-based game engine for the web (2010).
