Speaker
Maurits Kaptein
Maurits Kaptein is a researcher focused on statistical methods for personalization (for example in healthcare and marketing), machine learning and data science. He has founded, grown and sold companies, raised over 3.5 million in funding, helped develop several popular software packages, and is the author of three books and over 60 scientific publications.
In these talks, Maurits Kaptein covers persuasion and personalization. Persuasion and why we fail to predict it (TED, 2011) looks at how poorly we anticipate what persuades us, while Our personalized online persuasion profiles (TED, 2012) and Persuasive Profiling (conversions@google, 2013) explore adapting persuasive strategies to the individual. Personalization of Continuous Feedback continues the theme. The talks draw on behavioral economics, cognitive psychology and data, and are relevant to persuasive design and conversion optimization.
