Connected UX
Conference talk at Web Directions
· 54 min
Design research has become common practice at product companies, but its insights often drift away as documents get lost on a hard drive or ignored by another department. Worse, effort gets duplicated when communication breaks down. In this 2013 talk, Aarron Walter, director of user experience at MailChimp, notes that while UX teams have research down to a science, few have found a way to connect qualitative and quantitative data, and long histories of research, in a central clearinghouse that different teams can share, search and maintain.
Open access to information strengthens connections between teams and supports a culture of inquiry. Aarron shares practical methods for getting off the research treadmill and building connections between data and teams.
