An Event Apart

An Event Apart brings together twelve leading voices in web design and development for two days of talks, plus an optional third day, “A Day Apart”, focused on a single topic. Each session builds on the one before, and each topic is meant to be essential to modern web design and development practice.

The six talks recorded here are from 2012 and 2013. Luke Wroblewski gives two of them, Mobile First and Mobile To The Future, and Jared Spool examines the curious properties of intuitive web pages. Content is a strong thread: Jeffrey Zeldman argues for content first, Karen McGrane talks about adapting ourselves to adaptive content, and Kristina Halvorson covers better content by design in Message and Medium.

Together the sessions touch on content strategy, interaction design, intuition, mobile and app design, and responsive web design.
