Jared Spool
Jared Spool is a writer, researcher, speaker and educator, and an expert on usability, software, design and research. He has worked in usability and design since 1978 and founded User Interface Engineering (UIE), a research, training and consulting firm, in 1988. In 2016 he co-founded Center Centre, a UX design school in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with Leslie Jensen-Inman. He is a co-author of Web Usability: A Designer’s Guide and Web Anatomy: Interaction Design Frameworks that Work.
In these seven talks, recorded between 2011 and 2015, Jared Spool covers how design connects to business and how design teams make good choices. He explains why “UX Strategy Means Business”, dissects “The Anatomy of a Design Decision” at Webstock in 2012, and asks “Is Design Metrically Opposed?” at the Design and Content Conference in 2015. Other talks look at “The Curious Properties of Intuitive Web Pages” (An Event Apart, 2013), “Using the Kano Model to Build Delightful UX”, “Experiencing Delightful Content”, and mobile UX as a perfect storm in “Mobile & UX: Inside the Eye of the Perfect Storm”.
