Lean UX in the Enterprise
Recorded · 35 min
In this 2015 talk, subtitled “Agility through cross-functional collaboration”, Jeff Gothelf, author of the book Lean UX, looks at how larger organisations can apply Lean UX.
His starting point is that the world of software has become continuous. Delivery capabilities such as continuous deployment and continuous integration, combined with channels like app stores and the web, give teams an unprecedented feedback loop. Every launch is a chance to learn who is using a product or service, what they are doing with it, and how well it meets their expectations and the business’s goals.
Gothelf argues that combining this continuous learning cycle with techniques from user experience and design gives teams the opportunity to build products that truly meet customer needs and help their businesses win. The emphasis is on cross-functional teams working together rather than handing work from one discipline to the next.
