The Lean Startup

Conference talk at Talks at Google
· 58 min

Eric Ries is the creator of the Lean Startup methodology, author of The Lean Startup and the blog Startup Lessons Learned. In this 2011 talk, he presents the ideas behind the Lean Startup movement, which is taking hold in both new and established companies.

The approach aims to help entrepreneurs and managers do one important thing: make better, faster business decisions. It brings principles from lean manufacturing and agile development to the process of innovation, helping companies succeed in a business landscape full of risk.

For product and UX teams, the Lean Startup is closely tied to Lean UX and to working in short build, measure and learn cycles.
